Adam & Knight
Adam & Knight is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its award-winning integrated marketing podcast, “What’s the Big Idea?” The show was among the most followed and shared podcasts on Spotify in 2022.
Amp Agency was named as the public relations agency of record for snack brand Nature’s Bakery. Amp Agency’s goal will be to increase overall awareness of the brand and its lineup of fig bars, oatmeal crumble bars and organic baked-ins.
Enterprise engagement platform technologies company Augeo acquired Brand Networks, a social media marketing company that provides enterprises with AI-powered tools to optimize advertising investment and buying.
Barber Shop Marketing
The Barber Shop Marketing was named a top 25 advertising and marketing agency as well as a top women-owned business by the Dallas Business Journal. This comes after a series of awards for the agency in 2022, including three Telly Awards and 17 International Festival and Events Association Pinnacle Awards.
Barkley has been named agency of record for Smoothie King. Headquartered in Coppell, Tex., Smoothie King is one of the world’s largest smoothie chains. The global franchise company, which has more than 1,400 locations worldwide, was drawn to Barkley for its ability to build whole brands for modern consumers. The agency will be responsible for brand and creative strategy for Smoothie King.
50,000feet and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) partnered to launch BCG X, a global tech build and design brand. The new brand advances BCG’s industry and functional expertise by integrating advanced technology capability with entrepreneurship to help organizations define, build and commercialize their next big ideas.
Customer experience, loyalty and growth firm Bond launched BondX, a full-service agency bringing strategic marketing expertise and capabilities to clients. BondX specializes in using expertise in human behavior, loyalty science and brand experience and expression to amplify and capitalize on a brand’s total potential.
Colle McVoy was selected as marketing agency of record by Haribo. Colle McVoy and 10 Thousand Design, its speciality design practice, will concept and design retail display graphics for seasonal moments and support in-store promotional initiatives for the candy company.
Dentsu has launched dentsu shop, a fully integrated retail accelerator developed to help both retailers and brands win in the shopping landscape. As one of dentsu’s growing portfolio of vertical-specific solutions, dentsu shop is a collective which draws upon the best of the network’s commerce capabilities across CXM, media and creative to deliver on the promise and potential of the shoppable world.
Richard Rathe and John Capano, both experiential marketing industry veterans, partnered to launch full-service events and experiential marketing agency Ev&Ex Agency. Ev&Ex aims to help brands identify, engage and motivate audiences to action.

Whirlpool Corporation has inked a six-figure annual sponsorship agreement between its World of Whirlpool (WoW) Studios and the One Club for Creativity to support the club’s One School, a free 16-week online portfolio program designed to open doors to a career in advertising for talented Black creatives. WoW Studios’ sponsorship will help ensure that the high cost of portfolio schools—often running in the range of $40,000—does not get in the way of giving Black creative talent entry into the industry.
Rinck Advertising was recognized as a Davey Award Silver Winner for its work on the Intermodal Association of North America’s membership campaign. Independent marketing agency The Engine is Red acquired digital marketing agency Heart of the Sun. The acquisition aims to deepen The Engine is Red’s expertise in digital strategy and expand services and capabilities for clients like Tesla, Roku and FujiFilm.
Upwork recently expanded to support full-time hiring on its platform. Now an end-to-end hiring solution, it now enables businesses to find, vet, hire and pay global talent for full-time work, and even provides tools to address complexity and risk.
Sports, music and culture agency Wasserman is adding two new departments. Wasserman Next Gen is a rebranding of next generation marketing experts Riddle & Bloom and Wasserman Digital Design & Technology is a rebranding of ecommerce specialists Accorin.
Women in Media
The executive director for Women in Media, Tema Staig, is being honored at the 38th Annual Women of the Year Awards. Staig will be named as a community-at-large awardee for the media and arts category for her work in the nonprofit industry to change the narrative that no experienced women worked behind the scenes in the entertainment industry.
